My World of Snowboarding

Snowboarding has been always my fav sport since the 1st time I tried 4 years ago back in Canada. It's like love at 1st try, I knew from the beginning it's the right sport for me. I knew I can learn and master it if I try and put real effort on it. It's been quite a while since the last time I went snowboarding, going down the hill, hitting the slopes, learning some awesome tricks wt bunches of friends. No chance at all for me to snowboarding in Malaysia. I miss snowboarding badly.

Last couple of nights, I was a bit free, so I decided to make above video using raw footages that I found in my laptop. The video basically is a collection of my snowboarding experience at few different ski resorts at Rockies ranging from the biggest one like Whitsler to the smaller resort like Snowvalley.

I had a very great time snowboarding with my super awesome friends and also with the one that I love, my dearest Syikin. Hopefully, that's not the end of my snowboarding experience. I believe more is yet to come when the time is right. c",)

10, 000 Steps Per Day

  Have you ever heard about a campaign launched by our gov to encourage Malaysian to walk 10000 steps a day? It's been awhile since the gov started it actually and I'm not sure whether the campaign is still going or not. Either way, I'm giving my support to this kind of campaign, encouraging the people to live and maintain a healthy life.

  In my humble opinion, it's vital to exercise regularly to stay fit and prevent ourselves from getting any chronic diseases such as heart failure, diabetes and few more. It's generally accepted that we're supposed to exercise at least 3 times a week and 20 minutes per session. If you do the math, it's just an hour per week but honestly, based on my experience, i dont think most people are able to do that especially to those who are living in  big cities like KL. Life here is pretty hectic, you wake up early in the morning, go to work and then come back late in the evening. Not much time left for exercising and after a day at workplace, you definitely get really tired/exhausted to exercise and would love to get some rest. So, this is where 10000 steps a day campaign fits perfectly.

  Why should we walk 10000 steps a day? If you exercise regularly, like jogging frequently or go to gym or fitness centre, then you actually can forget about this campaign. I think this campaign is perfect for those who are too busy to exercise since walking can be done almost everywhere, free and requires no so ever equipment, believe me. It suits nicely those urban residents who couldn't find time to exercise. 

  What can we achieve from it? So many actually but the most important thing is to keep our body healthy for the sake of the people that we love. Below what I can summarize about the benefits of walking.


1.Burns calories
2.Strengthens your bones and back muscles, slims your waist
3.Lowers blood pressure
4.Cuts cholesterol
5.Reduces risk of heart disease, diabetes, & more chronic diseases
6.Reduces stress and mood
7.Sleep better

 How can we accomplish it? There are so may ways to achieve the target of 10000 steps a day, some of them you might never thought before but they do work effectively if you're determined and consistent.


a)Take a walk with your spouse, child, or friend to a park/garden or myb a mall for window shopping
At the same time, this could help strengthen our relationship providing some quality time for us to spend together.


b)Walk your pets eg dog(cat if u can..:)
This actually has been practiced for another reason in foreign countries esp in Canada. The best thing, when they walk their dog, they will bring what they call "dump bag" (if i'm not mistaken) which will be used to put their dog shit. They literally will use their hand to collect the poo. I honestly haven't seen such thing happens in Malaysia.


c)Use the stairs instead of the elevator

This should be a routine to those who are living at apartment/condo or working at a skyscraper. I dont mean to ask u all to take the stair from ground floor to 19th floor. Be reasonable. Use the stair from LG to 1st floor and then take the elevator should be ok for the beginning. Then, LG to 2nd floor and so on. But, make sure there is improvement as time goes on.


d)Park farther from the store
Do you know Shay Carl? The famous youtuber? Never ever heard about him? Google his name, I'm not gonna explain more about him..hehe..Anyway, he is doing this for quite awhile. Every time he needs to go to the store, he'll take the farthest parking lot even when he's together with his little children.

P/s* That's a good one. Pretty funny, isnt it?It made my day. For me, I do believe that laughter is the best medicine but there's a limit. Please dont laugh too much cz according to what i heard from a religious talk, those who laugh too much will suffer in the Hereafter.

  Guys, take a good hard look at above pic. What do you think?Isn't that cool?Totally awesome right. It's a men's shoe shaped car and not just that, it's moving. Furthermore, it's green, powered by electric battery located underneath the driver's seat. There's no detail spec about this shoe, opss, car. But, from the article i read, it can move up to 400 km in a single charge at 30 kmph. Not bad, isn't it?
  Actually, the car was built by a China footwear manufacturer, Kang Shoe for a promotional purpose and took them about 6 months to finish it. I never heard about this company before and the company idea to build it serve it's purpose rightly. It really catch people attention due to uniqueness. Some billionaires might be interested to get it. Anyway, the company also mentioned that they probably will build another 40 more of these to be distributed to their branch. Now, i wish Kang Shoe should have a branch in Malaysia.c",)

The Most Important Thing You Should Know About Bkt Larut/Maxwell Hill

  Last December, during the school break, I was asked by my lil sista to bring her to Bkt Larut, which also known as Maxwell Hill. To those who never heard about it, go google it.hehe.c",)

  Bkt Larut is located at Taiping and it's one of main attractions of Taiping, a historic city. Since, Taiping is pretty close to my hometown, it pretty much becomes my family regular destination for our school break, especially the zoo and waterfall, but we never had the chance to go to Bkt Larut together. I dont know why, myb cz it simply just didn't cross our mind.

  So, when my lil sista come out wt the idea going to Bkt Larut, I thought it's not a bad idea. We decided a date, unfortunately my dad couldnt join us. On that day, we went pretty early, if i was not mistaken, at around 8:00 am and we reached there few minutes before nine. The parking area wasn't full, I easily found a place to park. I thought it's a good sign, but I was wrong.

  Once we arrived at the office to buy the jeep ticket to go to the top, we're told that the ticket was sold out. NONE left. Damn it, it's still early and there's no more ticket to go to the top for the whole day. It's totally suck but nothing can be done. Since we're already at Taiping, I brought them to zoo. Futhermore, it's been awhile since the last time we went there. From outside, we can see that there're a lot of changes there.

  However, we didn't give up. We chose another date and we planned to go there a little bit earlier. For the second attempt, I guess we departed before seven in the morning and arrived there before 8 am. Once again, parking wasn't crowded. There're few empty parking lots. But, myb 2 or 3 buses were parked there.

  I had a bad feeling about this. We rushed to the office. We saw the sign that ticket was sold out but there're some people still lining up to get the ticket. I joined them, just wanna try my luck. Unfortunately, I ended up wasting my time there. Still couldn't get the ticket. They told me that no early booking is allowed. No choice, this time, we then decided to go to Burmese pool. Can u imagine going to a waterfall pretty early in the morning? We're the first family arrived there.

  Honestly, till the moment I'm writing this, I'm confused why is it so freaking difficult to get a jeep ticket to Bkt Larut? Is it cz of too many tourist going there? Or myb it is cz of the bad management? I'm actually leaning towards the second point for some reasons that I dont wanna mention here. just go there and you'll see.

  Recently, I heard that the gov is going to build a cable car to the top of the hill. However, since there're few groups who are against and protest this project, it hasn't started yet. It's still under discussion. Part of me say that this project actually is a good project to solve to the problem mentioned above and also could  help to attract more tourists to go there, consequently improve the tourism industry.

CELLPHONE: dangerous/not dangerous

is it true or just a hoax cellphone could be dangerous to us?

The saga continues. The latest in the cellphones dangerous/not dangerous epic tale is that researchers in the UK are claiming that mobile users in rural areas are at a much higher risk of brain cancer than their urban-dwelling counterparts. The idea is that in areas of lower reception, the radiation level is increased in efforts to make up for poor signals, resulting in a three-fold increase in brain tumor diagnosis for those in rural areas. Of course, the sample size was too small and not geographically spread out enough (1400 Swedes), so the chairman of the House of Commons select committee on science and technology called for further research (surprise!) and then came to the next logical conclusion: until that research is done, mobile phones should be banned. Seems highly pragmatic to us. Good thing we've got some rational folks heading up these committees that legislate technology — they sure are looking out for us.

If it's true, village folks should move to the urban areas and we'll see population in big cities (which is already crowded especially in KL)  increases significantly n "ridunkilously". That's kinda suck. Hopefully this is another BS or a conspiracy theory. Logically, if u think carefully, it's supposed to be the urban areas that should have higher risk instead of rural. I dont know how they come out wt this new idea/fact or myb they just made it out so that urban residents would thought that they're safer living in the cities. Honestly, nowadays, it's hard to believe facts/news from the mainstream media.

 I came across this snowboarding film trailer while browsing youtube. It simply just WOW for me. I really hope it will be showing at cinema someday. If so, I probably will be the 1st person to go watch it. c",)

 Greenday is actually one of my fav bands. I've been following this band since I was in secondary school and "warning" was my first original casette [i guess so] that I was willing to pay for what's it worth. Cashier Experience

 "Congratz, you're hired! when you can start working?"Yahoooo!I'm so damn excited. That's what I've been waiting for a long time ago.
  After my graduation, I've been looking for a job, I applied hundreds of job openings and after four months of effort, at the end, I got one. Although it's not the one that I have in mind for my career, it's still a job which would give me halal source of income.
  "Tomorrow is fine for me,"That's actually pretty fast. I should have told him next month since it's the end of Oct already.
  "Nice, we're kinda short of employee right now. So, why don't you come at 7 am tomorrow," He replied.
  "Sounds good for me," What? Am I crazy? I shouldn't answer that. From my house to the place normally would take almost half an hour. Thus, I need to wake up pretty early and make my move before 6.30 am.Great, isn't that?
  Initially, I did plan to work temporarily at a petrol station if I couldn't get any job in oil and gas industry but just as a part timer. I applied at Petronas Parit Buntar, unfortunately, I didn't get the job. Then, on my way to Nibong Tebal, I stopped by at Petronas Simpang 5 to fill up my tank. I saw an ad there that they're hiring. Just to confirm, I asked one of the pump attendant and he asked me to talk to the manager. After a very brief interview, I was offerred the job.

   The next day, I woke up early. After showering and praying fajr, with black pants and shoes, I rode my moto to Simpang 5. I arrived there few minutes earlier. I meet the supervisor and manager, they showed me how to use the punch card and give me the uniform. Unfortunately, it's huge. It's not my size. I usually wear s size shirt, but they gave me xxl. That's ridiculous! However, I got no other choice, that's the smallest uniform size they have. With hesitation, I wore it.It's like wearing a hip hop shirt. Not cool at all.
  Then, the manager asked me to enter the cashier counter. He showed me how to use the cashier machine. I talked to my friend who used to work at petrol station. Normally, newbie would work as a pump attendant. Then, if you're familiar wt the station and do a very good job, you'll be "promoted" to cashier. I was expecting to work outside as pump attendant, but then I was asked to be cashier. Myb cz they're short of employee especially cashier, I heard that almost half of the employees resigned in that month.
  Using the cashier machine isn't that difficult. Pretty simple actually, just like using PC. The only difference was that it's a touch screen. I learned quite fast, but the only problem for me was to remember the pump number. There were 14 pumps at the station and they were not arranged properly. The arrangement of the pumps was quite a mess. I always get mixed up with it. Cz of that, I had very difficult time to set a pump for a customers if they didn't mention which pump they're gonna use.

  Beside that, the supervisor taught me some other things that I need to do such as  epay for top up and astro, smartpay for subsidized diesel, checking cigarettes and lubricants, price tagging, filling up tank for customer, cleaning the station like mopping the washrooms, surau and the pump area, picking up garbages around the station area, receiving petrol n diesel from a tanker n few mores. The job scope sounded pretty simple but it's tiring and exhausting.
  After few days, I had to agree with my coworker there, dealing with customer is not easy. You all know that we shouldn't expect the similar things from different people. Every person is this world is unique, everyone of us has our own life and our own problem. Since working there, I experienced scolded by customer which is annoying but you have to face it. In business, customer is always right. If you fight back, then you're done and dusted. That month would be your last pay slip.

  On the other side, if you received praise from customer, it definitely will make you feel good and happy. It also could motivate and energize you to work harder and perform your duty better. Some of the coworker even receive money as token of appreciation for their good job from the customer. Although, it's not much, at least it's something than nothing.
  Personally, I really enjoy working as a cashier at Petronas Simpang 5. I meet a varieties of people which have open my world wider and broaden my experience to a new level that I totally not expected. I had a lot of fun working there. The manager and superviser were nice, my coworkers were friendly to me. I couldn't ask for more. I had great time working there.

Someday, I might own a station.c",)
